Chandigarh: The Punjab authorities has introduced a slew of relaxations for industry, together with extension of validity of statutory clearances with out inspection, officers said on Friday.
The transfer is aimed toward additional easing the method of acquiring statutory clearances in these tough circumstances amid coronavirus, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said.
He said the relaxations would assist instill confidence amongst buyers and encourage them to spend money on the state through the pandemic in a hassle-free method.
An official assertion quoting Punjab Pollution Control Board Chairman S.S. Marwaha said the board had prolonged the validity of consent to set up and function, authorisation, registration and some other obligatory regulatory clearances up to June 30 in view of the pandemic.
The validity of the clearances has been additional prolonged up to March 31, 2021, with sure stipulations on submission of utility with out conduct of any inspection by the board, he said.
In order to make sure the participatory regulatory compliance of the environmental laws, the industries that have been working with out the consent of the board have been given time up to December 31 to apply for acquiring clearances under the Voluntary Disclosure Scheme.
Principal Secretary (Science, Technology and Environment) Alok Shekhar said these initiatives would help the industry in finishing their regulatory compliances and would improve the regulatory regime by the small-scale industries.
